Mandalay (MLB) - Myanmar Airways International (MAI) will launch daily flights between Mandalay, the second largest city of Myanmar and Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand. The route is planned to start on this coming 31 March, 2013.

The flight will depart Bangkok at 0630 and arrive at Mandalay International Airport at 0755. The return flight will depart Mandalay at 0835 and arrive in Bangkok at 1100. The airline will use a 180-seat Airbus A320 on the route.

Visa-on-arrival is now available for citizens of 48 countries after the government expanded the visa scheme for 22 more countries last week. Business visa, entry visa, and transit visa have been available at the Yangon International Airport since last June and at the Mandalay International Airport since last November.Visas on arrival are only granted to travelers with the necessary documents, including a letter of invitation from their sponsoring company. A 70-day business via costs US$50, a 28-day entry visa for meetings, workshops or events is $40, and a 24-hour transit visa is $20.

The Allied War Memorial Cemetery is located at Htauk Kyant, Mingaladon Township, 32km from Yangon, on the way to Bago. It was built in 1951. It is a memorial cemetery of the Allied soldiers who died in the Myanmar Campaign during World War II. The cemetery is peaceful and its beautifully kept grounds has 27,000 stone graves of fallen Commonwealth and Allied soldiers. Htauk Kyant War cemetery is the largest of the three war cemeteries in Myanmar.

The Ananda Temple is located in Bagan, Myanmar. This temple is a Buddhist temple built in 1105 AD during the reign (1084–1113) of King Kyanzittha of the Pagan Dynasty. This pagado is one of the oldest pagoda in Myanmar. You can see ancient Burmese handicraft and art in this temple.

The central square measures 53 metres along each side while the superstructure rises in terraces to a decorative 51 metres above the ground.
