Yangon, also known as Rangoon, is a former capital of Myanmar. Although the capital is move to Naypyidaw in March 2006, Yangon, with a population of over four million, continues to be the country’s largest city and the most important commercial centre. Yangon is so evergreen and cool with lush tropical trees, shady parks and beautiful lakes it has earned the name of “The Garden City of the East”.
