Digital Cinemas Are Coming in Myanmar

All the cinemas in Myanmar will become digitalized within this year, according to Myanmar Motion Picture Organisation. For the first phrase, the government has instructed entrepreneurs operating 27 state-owned cinemas with long-term rentals to upgrade to digital projects and improve their facilities. "If (the cinemas) will not be converted to digital system, we will discuss about returning them back to the Ministry of Information. There may be entrepreneurs who can upgrade these cinemas or the people from the film industry can run these cinemas as a public firm," said Win Kyi, secretary of MMPO said.
